An 82-year-old man has been reunited with his stolen Rolls-Royce Silver Ghost thanks to the intuition of a young schoolboy who spotted the classic car.

Brian Fitton was sleeping at a UK hotel when his prized possession was stolen, with the Briton having spent years restoring the incredibly rare car.

While he was devastated at its disappearance, there was hope that someone would be able to find the stolen Rolls-Royce Silver Ghost.

Incredibly, a young schoolboy spotted the stolen car and realized what it was, leading to it being reunited with its owner, with no damage reported.

How thieves made off with the stolen Rolls-Royce Silver Ghost

The original theft of the Rolls-Royce took place in mid-June, while its owner was fast asleep in a hotel.

Fitton was taking his car to the Baltic states, where he and other classic Rolls-Royce owners were going on an epic road trip.

However, he awoke the next morning to find the car gone, as well as the trailer he was towing.

The retired scrapyard owner and millionaire put out a plea to anyone who might have seen the stolen Rolls-Royce Silver Ghost.

Fitton also offered $2,700 to anyone who could safely return the car to him.

The worried owner had spent some time restoring the Silver Ghost, so he was desperate to get his pride and joy back.

A schoolboy spotted the stolen classic car

Remarkably, a young schoolboy was able to spot the stolen car.

The kid saw the car and recognized it after seeing it all over the news.

Once home, he told his father about the car.

The father then contacted the local police, who sent officers to a rundown shed.

Remarkably, the car was there, still on its original trailer, and with no damage whatsoever.

The police were finally able to reunite the car with Fitton, who was relieved to see it was intact.

With only 7,874 built from 1907 to 1926, the Silver Ghost is an incredibly rare car.

So what will Fitton do now that he has the car back in his hands?

Not only has the young boy been given his reward, but Fitton is now taking the car on its Baltic tour as originally intended.

Sometimes, sad stories do have a happy ending.
