A headless Chinese robot dog just smashed the world record and can now outrun the average person

This headless Chinese robot dog has managed to smash a very impressive world record and can now probably outrun you or me.

The world record for the fastest 100m by a quadrupedal robot was smashed by Whiterhino, which was developed in China, and it’s so quick that you could blink and miss it.

The news comes after the previous world record sat at 19.87 seconds and was held by a Korean piece of engineering

Now, the robot could beat the average human on the racetrack, too, thanks to its sheer speed.

Robots are slowly becoming a part of everyday life and could soon be completing everyday tasks such as laundry and cooking.

But did you know that they can also take part in sports?

Well, this headless Chinese robot dog recently smashed a world record, and it’s as impressive as it sounds.

The Whiterhino robot was developed by the Center for X-Mechanics at Zhejiang University in China, and is now making history.

Earlier this year, on May 27, it achieved the Guinness World Record for the fastest 100m by a quadrupedal robot, completing the distance in just 16.33 seconds.

“Whiterhino’s exceptional performance stems from the robot’s forward design methodology developed by the XMECH lab.

“This achievement is the culmination of XMECH’s long-term research in dynamic motion mechanics,” stated Guinness World Records itself.

The world record organization also explained that research was ‘collaboratively’ carried out by a variety of academics.

You have to admit that it’s impressive, after all, ‘the average person runs the 100-meter dash in around 15-17 seconds’, according to NordStick.

The robot managed to beat the previous record of 19.87 seconds that was held by the Hound robot from the Republic of Korea.

All over the world, robots are doing amazing things

Thanks to a huge advancement in technology, robots are achieving new milestones every single day.

For example, the world’s first robot dog with animal reflexes recently walked through the woods without any training.

Plus, a $100K humanoid robot even strolled into a New York Rolex store and left everyone dumbfounded. The post A headless Chinese robot dog just smashed the world record and can now outrun the average person appeared first on Supercar Blondie.
