Down under in Australia, a special testing of glow-in-the-dark road paint is taking place, and it’s all to help night-time travel safety.
The paint is set to help drivers when navigating the open roads to the outback, keeping them safe during their travels.
The first run was rolled out in 2024, but now it could be set to expand, according to reports.
The clever solution could be the answer to nighttime fears when behind the wheel and make for a cool view when tackling a dark drive.

Down under, a new kind of nighttime safety measure is taking place.
Often, driving in the dark can be a challenge for drivers, and some even opt to avoid darkness altogether and stick to daylight hours, but there could be a new solution on the horizon.
Forget standard one-color, dull road markings and bays that you simply can’t see, even with headlights; something even better has come along.
Glow-in-the-dark road paint is set to make drivers’ lives a whole lot easier.
“The photoluminescent painted markings absorb and store sunlight during the day and glow at night, helping drivers better see line markings and the shape of the road ahead,” stated Transport for NSW.
The road markings were also designed to also ‘provide a safe alternative at sites where street lighting is not practical’.
The new safety feature was first rolled out in 2024, but now the use could in fact be expanded further across New South Wales, according to reports.
The markings have previously been installed on the hairpin turn on Bulli Pass, which was the first road to benefit from the glowing markings.
