As it evolves from a Cosmos-based DEX chain to a sophisticated dual-chain system, BNB Chain continues to focus on decentralization, speed, and cost-efficiency. Performance Enhancements In the first half of 2025, BNB Chain reduced block time to 0.75 seconds and finality to 1.875 seconds. These upgrades were part of two major hardforks, Lorentz and Maxwell, which also increased network bandwidth to 100 million gas per second. These improvements are designed to accommodate high-volume onchain activity, ensuring that users experience seamless transactions even during peak periods. Cost Efficiency and Fairness Gas fees have been reduced to a median of $0.01, making interactions affordable during peak periods. Additionally, malicious MEV (Miner Extractable Value) attacks have been cut by 95%, thanks to the efforts of the Goodwill Alliance. Infrastructure Upgrades BNB Chain plans to introduce a Rust-based client to support 10–20x more throughput, enhancing speed and efficiency.
