The track is now the bestselling at the moment (as of May 3) on what is often considered the most important sales platform in the country, and big things may be coming for the title. “Stop the Rain” May Become a Billboard Hit Given its massive first-day performance, “Stop the Rain” looks likely to debut on several Billboard rankings next week. Actual sales figures aren’t shared by iTunes, but the fact that it’s been living inside the top 10 for a day and is now running the show suggests that it’s a near-lock for the Digital Song Sales chart. It might even hit No. 1. “Stop the Rain” could also make its way onto some genre-specific tallies. Depending on how strong those sales figures are, it might reach the Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs or Hot Rap Song tallies.
