Bugatti 1,600hp Bolide could be escaping the track and hitting the streets

The 1,600hp Bugatti Bolide hypercar could soon escape the racetrack and hit the streets thanks to Lanzante.

When Bugatti unveiled the incredible Bolide, it was sold as a track-only hypercar, designed and built for the racetrack with no plans for a road-going version.

Now, though, British specialists Lanzante have the Bolide in their sights for their next project, having built up a reputation for taking track-only cars and creating street-legal versions.

With just 40 Bolides ever made, we aren’t going to see many on the road, but even seeing just one will be quite the spectacle.

What Lanzante has said about its Bugatti Bolide conversion

CEO of the company, Dean Lanzante, recently explained why they felt the hypercar was the perfect candidate for conversion.

Lanazante has done some epic conversions in the past, including the Porsche 935 and showcased the 95-59, a three-seat F1 GTR tribute based on the McLaren 750S, at Goodwood in 2025.

“We are currently doing Bugatti Bolide, which has some carryover with road cars,” Lanzante said.

The company believes that, as the car shares enough with Bugatti’s other road-legal models, the conversion is feasible.

But taking a track car and making it legal for everyday use isn’t the work of a moment.

Lanzante will have to rework many of the systems in the Bugatti and add an easier-to-use starting system.

Plus, the car has to comply with emissions rules as well as pedestrian protection requirements.

Yet what you could end up with is one incredible machine.

The Bugatti could be the ultimate road-legal track car

It is easy to see why Lanzante wants to see a Bolide on the road.

Under the hood is an 8.0-liter quad-turbocharged W16 engine.

This is the same we’ve seen in the Bugatti Chiron, but now with upgraded turbocharger blades.

The hypercar makes 1,578hp, with the hypercar weighing just 2,733lbs.

With all that power, the car can do 0-60mph in just 2.2 seconds, with an incredible top speed of 249mph.

There are some other remarkable stats about the hypercar, too.

For example, its tires cost $8,000 each and can only do around 37 miles before they need replacing.

However, Bolide buyers probably don’t have to worry too much about cost, let’s be honest.

Should Lanzante pull this conversion off, it could be one of the greatest track-to-road modifications we’ve ever seen. The post Bugatti 1,600hp Bolide could be escaping the track and hitting the streets appeared first on Supercar Blondie.
