Buying a Hellcat is not cheap, so why not buy the cheapest Mercedes V8 AMG on the market and blast a supercharger through it to make an incredible Hellcat roar for less?

UK lads try to make a Hellcat out of a V8 AMG and a supercharger
Over the years, people have made an abundance of Hellcat builds from bonkers cars
Most recently, some people dropped the iconic engine into a minivan and quickly found out that it was amazing.
But when your budget is lower than the Hellcat range, sometimes improvisation needs to be pushed to the limit.
Now, the UK lads behind YouTube page Top Dead Centre – Edwin Klinkenberg and Will Chandler – have tried to learn from previous supercharger mistakes and give the ‘cheapest’ Mercedes V8 AMG on the market a boost.
The duo bought the Merc for $4,000 and had already racked up 200,000 on its clock.
But they went to town fitting a supercharger anyway, intending to inject a whopping 600hp into the engine.
To get the most out of the supercharger, the pair fitted a belt kit intended to reduce the chance of a slip, which is a common fault.
More instalments, like another coolant system and a water pump, were added to reduce the heat and pressure generated.
But history doesn’t bode well for the duo, as they recently fried the life out of a Jaguar by fitting in a beastly supercharger.
So, would the Merc actually transform into a Hellcat?
After just a small ride, the supercharger really did zip.
However, the car has yet to be fully tuned, and the supercharger was only briefly kicked into life.
Still, its power and sound were immediately felt, and the duo was stunned.
The true Hellcat noise wasn’t quite there, but it’s well on its way to being a successfully supercharged V8 AMG.
As far as Hellcat builds go, you can’t look past the widebody Dodge Challenger owned by WWE Hall of Famer Bill Goldberg, which is a genuine one-of-a-kind monster. The post Cheapest V8 AMG with 200,000 miles gets Hellcat parts to sound like a supercar for fraction of the price appeared first on Supercar Blondie.
