Everything you need to know about the Ferrari Daytona SP3

The Ferrari Daytona SP3 perfectly blends good looks with a high-performance V12 engine to create one of the most stunning supercars of all time.

Ferrari unveiled the Daytona SP3 in 2021 for the model year 2023, announcing that production numbers would be limited to just 599 examples.

Its sleek design pays homage to Ferrari’s legendary 1960s race cars.

The Daytona SP3 is the latest car from Ferrari’s famed Icona series and comes with a $2.25 million price tag.

Let’s take a closer look at the stunning Ferrari Daytona SP3

Ferrari is renowned for its beautiful and powerful vehicles, but even amongst such highly-regarded cars, the Ferrari Daytona SP3 stands out.

The car is part of the Icona series – a limited production program that pays homage to the marque’s illustrious past.

The Ferrari Daytona SP3 is inspired by the ‘spirit of the sports prototypes of the 1960s’.

The design, overseen by Ferrari chief design officer Flavio Manzoni, is based on the Ferrari 330 P4 race car, which won the 1967 24 Hours of Daytona race.

Its sleek aerodynamic design has a low-set wraparound windscreen and double-crested front wings, both of which are inspired by earlier designs.

However, although the Daytona SP3 is inspired by Ferraris from yesteryear, its overall design is fresh and modern.

At the front, you’ll find partially hidden headlamps alongside a light strip that runs along the car’s front edge line.

“The fluidity of its masses melds effortlessly with sharper surfaces, to produce the sense of effortless aesthetic balance that has long been a signature of Maranello’s design history,” Ferrari explains on its website.

What’s it like inside the Daytona SP3?

Ferrari describes the interior of the Daytona SP3 as ‘like a racer from times gone by’.

Much like its exterior, the inside of the vehicle is heavily influenced by historic Ferraris, including the 330 P3/4 and the 350 Can-Am.

The all-new interiors were given a minimalist feel, with a carbon fiber dashboard and LED display system showing data.

The car’s touch controls mean that the driver is able to change most functions on the Daytona without having to move their hands from the wheel.

Smart stuff, right?

The supercar has a carbon fiber flat-bottom steering wheel, featuring a handy dial to change driving modes.

It was also given brand-new seats with an ‘ergonomic wraparound design’ offering a comfortable and secure ride for both the driver and passenger.

How does the supercar perform?

Given that the car is inspired by winning race cars and prototypes from back in Ferrari’s history, you’ve probably already guessed that the Daytona SP3 is a pretty powerful – and fast – beast.

The car features a naturally aspirated 6.5-liter V12 paired with a seven-speed automatic dual-clutch gearbox, which produces 829 horsepower.

That power converts to speed.

The Daytona SP3 can do 0-100km/h (0-62mph) in just 2.85 seconds, 0-200km/h (0-124mph) in 7.4 seconds, and has a blistering top speed of over 340km/h (211mph).

Ferrari made just 599 of the Daytona SP3s to keep them as exclusive as they are powerful – each came with a  $2.25 million price tag, and the last one rolled off the production line earlier this year. The post Everything you need to know about the Ferrari Daytona SP3 appeared first on Supercar Blondie.
