‘Flying car’ soars over Tampa Bay without a sound… the future is here

This flying car soared over Tampa Bay without a single sound and proved that the future is here.

The aircraft proves that electric vehicle technology has taken over the airspace and the road.

But, there is one huge pro to this new airliner.

You don’t even need a pilot’s license to fly one.

Electric vehicle technology is taking over

Electric vehicles are taking the auto world by storm and now, the skies too.

To limit the emissions being pumped into the atmosphere, many companies are opting for greener mechanical modes.

In fact, a planned EV air taxi was recently unveiled that would skip all New York City gridlock – cool, right?

Well, just wait until you see this new aircraft that takes things to a whole new level

The flying car is called the EVTOL

Fox 13 Tampa Bay unveiled the news on May 6 that the flying car had reached new heights in the Florida bay.

The eVTOL, by Pivotal, is otherwise known as ‘electric vertical takeoff and landing’ aircraft.

“As an electric aircraft, the Helix requires less maintenance than a fuel-powered vehicle. Automated enhancements pushed to the aircraft remotely keep it operating at peak performance,” the company stated.

CEO Ken Karklin spoke about how the aircraft emits little to no noise at all.

“It’s very low noise,” he explained.

“The aircraft has been in development for 13 years.”

But, the best bit? You don’t even need a pilot’s license to fly it, and you can learn to fly it in just a few weeks.

“It takes off like a helicopter, cruises like an airplane, and then you can land again just like a helicopter,” Karklin continued.

But this high-tech flying car comes with a cost

Talking to the news channel, he added: “The civilian version starts at a price of about $190,000 today.”

However, once the EV aircraft is in production, the price may differ.

The fun doesn’t stop there either, the company is also looking at taking the mode of transport mainstream, exploring opportunities in both the public and defence sectors too.

So, would you purchase one to try your hand at flying?
