This man gave the internet the chance to look around a hypercar garage filled with $40 million worth of cars, including a rare Bugatti Veyron that is one of only three ever made.
Ahmed Amwell is the owner of Luxury Custom and wanted to give his YouTube subscribers an exclusive look around his high-end automotive facility in Dubai.
There were plenty of incredible sights for people to feast their eyes on in here.
But one stood out above all the rest – a 1-of-3 Bugatti Veyron Legend ‘Jean Bugatti’ Edition.
What made this Bugatti Veyron so special?
There’s a ton of special cars in this man’s collection, from a Bugatti Chiron to a Ferrari 812 Superfast and a Rolls-Royce Dawn.
And that’s not even including some of the cars that are due to arrive soon, like an Aston Martin Valhalla, a McLaren W1, and a Koenigsegg Jesko Absolut.
This whole collection is dripping in good taste, but one car still manages to stand out from the crowd.
Besides rarity, what sets apart the Bugatti Veyron in Amwell’s collection?
After all, it sits among a lineup worth $40 million, so it has to do something to stand out, right?
Worth somewhere between $7 and $8 million, the Bugatti Veyron Legend ‘Jean Bugatti’ Edition is powered by a W16 engine.
Capable of 1,200hp and a top speed of 248mph, it was the world’s fastest convertible at one point.
The blank tinted exposed carbon fiber body is a thing of beauty, as is the bespoke interior.
On the inside, the chocolate brown seats are complimented with beige tones.
“It’s not only a Bugatti, it’s not only a Veyron, it’s a piece of history,” Amwell declared.
“When this car came out, it shook the market.”
How does it handle out on the road?
Looks are one thing – how does this Bugatti drive out on the road?
Out on the road, Amwell admitted to being a little nervous to drive it.
Which is understandable, as it cost a small fortune to begin with.
“Most cars are built to be driven, but this car is built to be remembered,” he explained.
“It’s not aggressive, but it builds…you can tell it wants to eat the floor.”
As he drove down the road, he noted that people were rushing to take photos of it passing by.
And something that was notable was the lack of screens in the car, giving this Veyron an old-school feel.
All of these do go some length to making the car distinctive, but there’s one additional detail that gives it an edge.
That’s the fact this car is a direct tribute to the Type 57SC Atlantic, the personal car of Jean Bugatti himself.
It disappeared in 1938 under mysterious circumstances and has never been seen since, making it something of an urban legend in the automotive world.
Thankfully we have this car around as something of a placeholder tribute.
