On Thursday, June 12, SiriusXM presented SmartLess Live, a special live taping of the chart-topping podcast which featured hosts Will Arnett, Jason Bateman, and Sean Hayes in conversation with special guest John Mayer.

During the event, which took place at Avalon Hollywood in front of a capacity crowd of adoring fans and SiriusXM subscribers, Mayer opened up about his dating life, saying that though he is currently single, he is “absolutely” interested in being a husband and father, and that nowadays he “would not date someone unless it had the upward mobility for becoming a marriage.”
Mayer also talked about why his stand-up comedy career never got off the ground, how he struggled as a teenager, and his idea for a vampire-themed TV show; and played a medley of hits on acoustic guitar for a crowd of adoring fans, even being joined briefly by Sean Hayes on backing vocals.
