This Kansas YouTuber swapped in a James Bond pinball machine for an ‘immaculate’ BMW 535i in what may be the ‘weirdest trade ever’.

Hoovies Garage, the self-described ‘dumbest automotive YouTube channel’, had a broken pinball machine on its hands.

It had been made to promote GoldenEye, the 1995 Bond movie featuring Pierce Brosnan.

But somehow it was still enough to get him a BMW 535i.

Trading in a James Bond pinball machine for a BMW 535i

Believe it or not, this James Bond pinball machine would actually be quite valuable, fetching up to $20,000.

That is, when it’s working.

The one Hoovie owns is not in such a condition.

In that sense, it’s nicely matched with the BMW 535i it was being traded for.

While Hoovie’s friend Rob described it as ‘immaculate’, Hoovie wasn’t quite as quick to praise the car’s state.

“Immaculate? A bad respray on this thing…absolutely horrendous wheels,” he said.

When he got a look at the shredded seats, he likened their condition to what an ‘angry cat’ would have done.

It wasn’t all bad news – the car didn’t have any rust, and Hoovie loved the car’s analog simplicity.

But to call this car ‘immaculate’ without a degree of sarcasm would be pushing it.

“This car has been sitting for a while, and the tires are about to pop,” he commented, as he zoomed in on the rubber.

And the car had issues when it came to driving as well – minor leaks, worn-out front brakes, and a fuel pump that might as well be an antique.

This car is from 1985, after all.

Was it a worthwhile trade-in for a broken James Bond pinball machine?

Everyone’s going to have a different opinion on that.

Hoovies Garage has form for quirky car shenanigans

If there’s one thing you can count on with Hoovies Garage, it’s car hijinks.

He’s landed himself in a fair few sticky situations before – having previously bought a broken Bugatti Veyron, which he later called his ‘dumbest purchase‘.

There was also the time his girlfriend surprised him with a Dodge Dart – and it broke down not long after.

So really, it’s quite on-brand that he’d trade in a broken pinball machine for a car with its own set of issues.

At any rate, we’re keeping our fingers crossed that the BMW 353i can be restored to its former glory.
