Koenigsegg is sold out of all hypercars and it’s ‘annoying’ the CEO

Hot off the back of its latest release with the Gemera, Swedish manufacturer Koenigsegg is sold out of all hypercars, including the Jesko and CC850, and the CEO finds it ‘annoying’.

For people with a thirst for high-octane cars – or a ‘need for speed’ per se – Koenigsegg is the magnum opus.

The crème de la crème.

But Koenigsegg is sold out of every hypercar that it’s ever made.

Koenigsegg is sold out, and the CEO finds it annoying

Touted as the fastest supercar brand in the world, thanks to the Jesko Absolut’s record-breaking top speed, Koenigsegg gets orders placed as quickly as it can make cars.

Quicker, in fact. As is with many supercar crafters, it gets orders placed before production even kicks into gear.

So much so that, even though the Gemera hasn’t been shipped out to all of its 300 limited customers, there are no hypercars left for the sales team to work on.

Speaking to Top Gear, CEO Christian von Koenigsegg claims this is ‘good’ but ‘annoying’.

“All our models are presently sold out, we have nothing to sell, which is kind of good, but also annoying because it’s fun to interact and supply enthusiasts with their dreams come true,” he said.

The next line of models to leave the factory floor is the CC850, which is planned for a 2027 release, but all 70 appear to have names on them.

So, why not make more hypercars?

The short answer is that it is.

Word from the horse’s mouth itself revealed that there is more to come from Koenigsegg, although the details are few and far between.

“We would love to have more, but we will introduce something new in one, one and a half years, then we’ll open up the order books again,” he continued.

“The something new we are working on—and we have several projects—are very limited runs, which means they all need to be different, and they all need to have meaning.”

There are already a few wonderful one-off creations from the Swedish manufacturers, such as the magnificent Jesko spin-off ‘Sadair’s Spear’ and the one-of-two CCXR Trevita.

More of these ultra-rare hypercars will likely be made before the next wholesale product is unveiled in 2026/27.The post Koenigsegg is sold out of all hypercars and it’s ‘annoying’ the CEO appeared first on Supercar Blondie.
