Kylie Jenner Clarifies Whether She’s Pivoting to Music Full Time: ‘I Don’t Think I’m Like Adele or Anything’
"I always wanted to try to see if I can do it," the mogul said of releasing her new single.

Kylie Jenner is all about trying new things. The makeup mogul shocked fans earlier this week by dropping her first-ever single — a collaboration with Terror Jr. titled “Fourth Strike” — and now, she’s opening up about why she wanted to pursue this new venture.
In a video posted Thursday (Oct. 16), Jenner said that releasing music has always been her “dream, even since she was little. “I’ve been talking about this since I came out of the womb,” she said. “I wanted to be a pop star — or, I don’t know what I am. But I just never had the confidence.”
“I always wanted to try to see if I can do it,” Jenner continued. “The first recording session I was really nervous. I had, like three margaritas — or vodka sodas, actually.”
The Kardashians star’s new track dropped on Tuesday (Oct. 14). She’s credited under the moniker “King Kylie,” which refers to the blue-haired, matte-lipstick-wearing persona she adopted circa 2016.
“One strike, two strike, let me get the mood right/ Do it on purpose just to see how it ends,” she sings on the electro-pop track, which comes 10 years after rumors swirled that she had secretly recorded vocals for Terror’s song “3 Strikes.”
“I don’t think I’m like Adele or anything,” she added in the video before revealing whether she wants to continue down the music path. “I hope so. I would love to try … I don’t want it to end. And I think, why not? I think we should try. Let’s like, make an album.”
