Lando Norris took his car dreams to Japan and made them a reality

When you’re a Formula 1 winning driver with a pedigree like Lando Norris, there are only a few dream cars that can really win you over – but Japan has found the answer.

Norris’ career as a racecar driver reached its peak in 2024 as McLaren took home the Constructors’ Championship title.

So, to really impress a car fanatic like Norris, speed isn’t always the key.

Enter the king of handling: Japan.

Lando Norris gets his dream ‘drift’ car in Japan

Norris doesn’t mess around when it comes to his car collection, as the young celebrity has already racked up a whopping portfolio of supercars.

Although he doesn’t like driving them

That might be because ordinary cars don’t scratch the same itch that an F1 racecar does.

But in a recent trip to Japan earlier this year, Norris was gifted his ‘dream drift car’ in a collaboration with his brand Quadrant and Liberty Walk.

The car in question was a Nissan R32 Skyline, which Norris took in for a revamp to take to the home of Tokyo Drift.

The upgrades included a custom HKS engine, anti-lag, launch control, and around 550 extra HP, which would see the car skirt around corners like nothing Norris would have driven before.

It even featured a huge front skirt, plastered with the branding.

Documented by Quadrant on YouTube, Lando even got hands-on during the rebuild, cutting body panels for the Skyline.

Strictly speaking, the car was first built in Liberty Walk Europe’s garage, based in the Netherlands, but it was given its first outing at the Tokyo Auto Salon as Quadrant toured Japan.

It’s likely that the car might instantly jump to the top of his favorites list, given its adverse style.

Hopefully, we’ll get to see him take it on a track soon and see if he can really hack a bit of NASCAR-style racing.

Norris really does have a taste for different cars, whether it be Lego McLarens or old-school American muscle cars like the papaya-hue 1973 Plymouth Barracuda that he took to the Miami Grand Prix last year. The post Lando Norris took his car dreams to Japan and made them a reality appeared first on Supercar Blondie.
