Legendary McLaren designer creates history

By now, you know Gordon Murray as the legendary McLaren designer.

Since 2017, the legendary South African designer has been in charge of his own firm.

And fans of Gordon Murray Automotive tend to be as plentiful as they are wealthy.

That wealth has never been more clearly on display than in today’s story.

Monterey Car Week in California has seen some truly incredible pieces go on display.

But Gordon Murray Automotive has just stolen the show from everybody.

In perhaps the most exclusive supercar deal in history, the legendary McLaren designer has received a special commission.

Murray will create 29 bespoke analog supercars for just two ultra-wealthy clients.

Gordon Murray Special Vehicles (GMSV) has unveiled the S1 LM and Le Mans GTR.

These two prototypes form what will ultimately be the 29-unit production run.

29-strong run of cars represents supercar purity

What makes the S1 LM and the Le Mans GTR so special is the approach that is being taken.

Both cars strip away all of the complexity of modern supercars in favor of a purer driving experience.

The naturally-aspirated Cosworth V12 has been bored out to 4.3 liters in the S1 LM.

Unlike the S1 LM, the Le Mans GTR is a track-focused production supercar.

This translates to a focus on downforce, with a fixed-wing and massive rear diffuser.

It also comes with a stiffer suspension setup, built to handle the abuses of track days.

This level of exclusivity is almost completely unprecedented in the supercar market.

Joe Macari, the London supercar dealer, is known to have snapped up the entire 24-car production run for the Le Mans GTR.

The identity of the S1 LM buyers remains a closely guarded secret.

It has been suggested, however, that the customer was one of the earliest buyers of the Murray Automotive T.50.

This 29-strong supercar deal will likely go down as one of the most exclusive deals in history. The post Legendary McLaren designer creating 29 bespoke supercars for just 2 millionaires in most exclusive deal appeared first on Supercar Blondie.
