Polestar is literally going to pay Tesla owners to ditch their EVs.

Well, okay, technically not literally.

But it is true that the company is offering amazing incentives to Tesla owners to trade in their Tesla and buy one of its models.

And there’s more good news.

Just a few months after the Polestar Conquest Bonus, the automaker has now come up with a similar bonus for owners of EVs from several rival car brands, including Tesla, BMW, Lexus, Audi, and more.

The offer is available through June 30th, and according to the Chinese-owned Swedish brand – Polestar is owned by Geely along with Volvo, Lotus, and Smart – you can save up to $18,000 on a Polestar 3 EV.

The Conquest Bonus accounts for $3,000 of that, while the rest is the result of various incentives, including federal ones.

Polestar was originally created as Volvo’s motorsports sub-division before becoming a standalone brand in 2017.

The automaker operates sort of halfway between everyday brands and pure luxury brands.

Some people think the cars are more refined than equivalent Teslas, although these things are always very subjective.

The Polestar 3 is actually a perfect example of how the brand is trying to create its own niche.

This is because this particular vehicle is more expensive than the Model Y, but a lot cheaper than the Model X.

It has a similar range to the Model X, but it’s a lot slower than the X Plaid, even in its best-performing iteration.

In other words, this manufacturer is trying to compete with both legacy automakers and newer companies while also creating its own segment.

And they’re trying to do so by also enticing customers with generous incentives.

Not a bad strategy. The post Polestar took aim at Tesla and offered thousands of dollars to drivers willing to switch appeared first on Supercar Blondie.
