Ringbrothers reveal 805hp Aston Martin DBS Octavia after more than 12,000 hours of craftmanship

Ringbrothers introduced the Aston Martin DBS Octavia at Monterey Car Week, presenting a restomod based on the 1971 coupe.

The car uses a carbon-fiber body and is powered by a supercharged Ford V8 producing 805hp.

It drives through a six-speed manual gearbox with modern suspension and braking systems supporting the chassis.

First shown at The Quail, the car drew attention for the extent of its rebuild and the scale of the project.

Aston Martin DBS rebuilt from the ground up

The Aston Martin DBS Octavia is the first Aston Martin model completed by Ringbrothers.

More than 12,000 hours were required to finish the build. It sits on a custom Roadster Shop chassis with an integrated cage, while Fox coilovers and Brembo brakes handle dynamics.

The wheels are three-piece HRE units designed for strength and low weight.

The powertrain is a Ford Performance 5.0-liter V8 fitted with a Harrop supercharger.

It produces 805hp and connects to a six-speed manual.

Ringbrothers has often chosen American engines for its projects, and here that approach gives the Aston Martin DBS a very different mechanical setup from the original.

The carbon-fiber bodywork retains the proportions of the William Towns design from the late 1960s but adapts them with a wider stance and sharper edges.

The car is finished in Double-0 Silver, a reference to Aston Martin’s Bond association.

Inside are pleated leather seats, carbon-fiber panels, brass fixtures, and stainless steel trim produced with 3D printing.

Gentex auto-dimming visors and a camera system add modern equipment to the cabin.

Restomods step into the spotlight at Monterey

The Aston Martin DBS Octavia was presented at The Quail during Monterey Car Week, an event known for classic cars and new supercars.

Restomods have become an increasingly large part of the program, shown alongside concours entries and manufacturer debuts.

For Ringbrothers, the Aston Martin DBS Octavia represents a move into European grand tourers after years of focusing on American models.

The combination of carbon-fiber construction, an 805hp engine, and detailed fabrication demonstrates how workshops are applying current methods to historic cars.
