During a new interview with Mikey Piff on SiriusXM Hits 1 (Ch. 2), Stella Lefty revealed the inspiration behind her new song, “Lean In Kiss Me,” explaining that she wrote the track with frequent collaborator and best friend Grace Enger during a rainy morning writing session in Nashville.

As they worked on the song, Stella and Grace found themselves thinking about the uncertainty and excitement of having feelings for a friend as teenagers.

“We were trying to channel when we were like 15 years old and we had a crush on someone that was in our friend circle,” Stella said. “You just had this deep feeling about them, but you were so afraid to ruin the friendship or let them know because what if they didn’t like you back?”

Ultimately, the 23-year-old singer-songwriter described “Lean In Kiss Me” as a song about taking that romantic risk: “It’s about the shooting of the shot.”

During the interview, the “SiriusXM Hits 1 One to Watch” and “Highway Find” also reflected on the emotional experience of performing at her hometown Lollapalooza and teased her upcoming debut album, Long Way Home. She revealed that she cried while recording the song’s vocals and believes listeners will be able to hear that emotion in the finished track.

“You know these things cost bread, so Em put the cheese up for it,” Kurupt said. “He put me with Em’s folks, so that was real special to me.”

The rapper said he was deeply moved by the gesture, especially because it came without hesitation.

The coach added that leadership and communication are essential qualities for any NFL quarterback.

It wouldn’t be Sunday Night Football without Carrie Underwood.

Since taking over as the voice of NBC’s iconic football theme in 2013, the country superstar has welcomed fans to primetime each week. But before the NFL season even kicks off, Underwood has already recorded every possible team matchup listeners could hear throughout the regular season and playoffs.

Speaking with “The Morning Mash Up” on SiriusXM Hits 1, Carrie explained the process behind creating the weekly theme song.

“It’s one main version, top to bottom, and then kind of filling in lines,” Carrie said. “When we go in to record, we do it all at once.”

That means recording much more than one song.

“We go through and pick up all the matchups for each week of regular-season football, and then we go into playoff football,” she said. “And I then sing every possible combination of teams that could possibly maybe play each other.”

Carrie also reflected on what makes performing the theme so meaningful.

“I think my favorite is when it kind of dawns on me that before these guys were playing in Sunday Night Football games, they were watching Sunday Night Football,” she said. “When they get there, I’m a little part of their journey, which is really cool.”

When asked whether she’d ever headline the Super Bowl Halftime Show, Carrie said she’d only consider it under the right circumstances.

“That’s a lot of pressure,” she said. “It would have to be just the right circumstances.”

When asked if she’d ever consider headlining the Super Bowl Halftime Show, Carrie said she wasn’t sure yet. “I mean, that’s a lot of pressure. It would have to be just the right circumstances,” she explained. Earlier this week, Usher was announced as the 2024 Halftime Show performer.

Carrie recently shared that Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce personally thanked her for helping him getting ready for games with her songs.

“I think my favorite is when … it kind of dawns on me that it’s like, before these guys were playing in Sunday Night Football games, they were watching Sunday Night Football,” Carrie shared. “It would’ve been the equivalent of me watching awards shows or people performing on TV, just being like, ‘Oh my gosh, if I could only do that.’ … And I’ve been [recording the theme for] 11 years, so some of these guys were younger, watching these football games, just thinking, ‘Oh my gosh, if I could be on Sunday Night Football.’ And then, when they get there, I’m a little part of their journey, which is really cool.”

Since 2013, Carrie has been the face (and voice) of Sunday Night Football, taking over theme song duties from fellow vocal powerhouse Faith Hill. In previous years, she performed “Oh Sunday Night” and “Game On.” Throughout this season, her “Waiting All Day for Sunday Night” performance video will be updated weekly with clips from each Sunday’s competing teams. The video was recorded at The Resorts World Theatre in Las Vegas — home of her recent residency, REFLECTION — and features a concert performance interspersed with augmented reality highlights displayed across a halo scoreboard.

Frank Miller Says Robert Rodriguez Changed His Mind About ‘Sin City’

The legendary comic creator revealed he initially turned down filmmaker Robert Rodriguez’s proposal to adapt the acclaimed graphic novel because he was wary of Hollywood.
“I’ve been through the Hollywood game before and I’m just afraid [there are] too many people involved,” he told D-Stroy.

Everything changed after Robert invited Frank to Texas to film a test scene.

“It was like seeing my book come to life,” he said. “I turned around in my chair and shook his hand and said, ‘I’m in, let’s go.'”

Frank also shared how Mickey Rourke instantly landed the role of Marv.

“He was already playing the part,” he said. “He came in as Marv to audition for it.”

During the conversation, Frank reflected on surviving his early years in New York City, drawing inspiration from rooftops across Manhattan, and explained why comics and hip-hop have always shared an “outlaw” spirit.

“Both forms are outlaw,” he said. “Both are way under the radar and are hitting people in ways they don’t expect.”

He also teased a new “Sin City” Western, revealing the story follows Marv’s great-great-great-grandfather, an Apache chief.

During her appearance on today’s episode of Radio Andy’s “Jeff Lewis Live,” Margo Stilley addressed speculation that she or her husband had filed a lawsuit against Bravo following reports that Season 5 of “Ladies of London: The New Reign” had been paused.

“What kind of legal action could I have against the network?” Margo said.

Margo added that she had never seen any paperwork and had no issues with her edit on the show, acknowledging there were moments that didn’t unfold exactly as they happened but she expected the series to “choose a side” when editing.

The reality star also admitted she had mixed feelings about the Season 5 pause. While she was looking forward to another season because she believed “the truth” about the cast dynamics would eventually come out, she also revealed she had been struggling with postpartum depression and hormonal imbalances during filming.

Looking ahead to his Grand Ole Opry debut, Niall admitted he never imagined he’d one day perform on country music’s most famous stage.

“I can’t even say I dreamt it up because it felt so far removed for me,” he said. “I never thought that I would get the call-up to play at the Opry.”

The singer added, “My love for country music goes a long way back. I just can’t believe that I’m going to be stood in the circle, in the same circle as some of those legends.”

Niall also praised his former “The Voice” coaches, calling Reba McEntire “exactly” who fans see on television.

“What you see is what you get with Reba McEntire,” he said. “She’s just the best.”

He credited Blake Shelton with helping him settle into his first season as a coach.

“I’d say just be yourself,” Niall said on the advice Blake gave him. “It’s very easy to sit in that chair and just overthink everything you’re saying and doing.”

Niall also discussed his friendship with Thomas Rhett, explaining how years of writing songs and playing golf together led to their upcoming stadium performance.

Unlike a traditional studio interview, “Better in Person” invites guests into Dubner’s New York City home, with conversations extending into locations that reflect each guest’s life and work — from restaurant kitchens and bookstores to rehearsal spaces and basketball courts.

“I’ll admit that I am greedy,” Dubner says. “I want to get to really know my guests. If “Freakonomics Radio” is about how things work, “Better in Person” is about how people work.”

Dubner says the project reflects his belief that audiences still crave thoughtful, substantive conversations.

“When I started the “Freakonomics” podcast, I thought there was ZERO chance we’d someday be able to funnel podcast money into making a filmed interview series,” he says. “Fifteen years later, I’m convinced people are much hungrier for substance than the conventional wisdom says.”

Anya Taylor-Joy recalls meeting “fetus me” on the “Dune” set

Anya, who made her debut as Alia Atreides in “Dune: Part Two,” said one of the strangest moments of filming came when she unexpectedly stumbled upon a prosthetic version of the character.

“I got to meet the baby version of me on set and it was a surprise,” Taylor-Joy told host Julia Cunningham. “I walked into the prosthetics area and there was fetus me, and I have some insane pictures of me with fetus me.”

She added with a laugh:

“Yeah, she’s creepy, but I like her.”

Anya appeared briefly in D”une: Part Two” as the adult vision of Alia Atreides and is set to reprise the role in the highly anticipated “Dune: Part Three.”

Drunk Vegas partiers kept yelling “Cut!” during “Lucky” filming

Anya also shared a funny story from filming “Lucky” at Caesars Palace in Las Vegas.

Although she expected to encounter plenty of over-the-top Vegas moments during early morning shoots, she said most people were surprisingly tame, except for one group that figured out how to prank the production.

“I think I had built it up in my mind, like, ‘Oh, I’m gonna see some stuff.’ People were surprisingly tame.”

Then came a group of revelers who realized they could throw her off by shouting a familiar filmmaking command.

“The only time that it kind of got in the way was actually very clever, where a group of drunk guys realized that if they yelled, ‘Cut,’ I would stop, so they really enjoyed that.”

As she ran through Caesars Palace during filming, the pranksters repeatedly yelled “Cut!”

“They’re just yelling, ‘Cut, cut, cut,’ and I was like, ‘What? What do you mean?'”

Anya said the production team eventually shut the prank down.

Between songs, Michelle reflected on the enduring impact of “The Spirit Room” and shared the story behind collaborating with The New Radicals on a new version of “The Game of Love.” She also explained why revisiting the hit alongside one of her longtime musical inspirations made the project especially meaningful.

On September 1, SiriusXM will launch SiriusXM Sports Pass, a new subscription plan that offers the company’s complete sports lineup for $5 per month or $49 per year for new U.S. subscribers.

Designed for fans whose seasons never end, SiriusXM Sports Pass includes every live game and event SiriusXM carries, plus local sports talk, exclusive SiriusXM sports channels, national sports programming, expert analysis, and podcasts. The new plan arrives just as the college football and NFL seasons get underway.

SiriusXM Sports Pass will also include access to 24 local sports talk channels — the recently announced 23 Audacy sports stations, including WFAN in New York, plus ESPN LA 710. All 24 stations join the SiriusXM lineup on September 1.

SiriusXM’s complete sports lineup will continue to be available through existing subscription plans, including Platinum, All-Access, and Music & Entertainment.
