For the weekend dated May 2 through 4, the film Thunderbolts led the charge, bringing in more than $74 million. Sinners only slipped to second place, which is an incredible showing for a project that has now been in theaters for several weeks, as the Ryan Coogler-directed picture continues to bring in tens of millions of dollars in ticket sales. The music, which features heavily in the plot, is also growing in popularity across the U.S., just as the movie itself begins to drop ever so slightly. Sinners Soundtrack Almost Hits No. 1 This frame, the Sinners soundtrack, which features songs performed in the movie, as well as a number of inspired-by compositions, jumps from No. 5, where it debuted last frame, to the runner-up rung on the Soundtracks chart. It’s held back only by another full-length musical set attached to a blockbuster, though not one that’s still in theaters. The Twisters album remains steady at No. 1 on the Soundtracks chart. It earns its eighteenth stay in the penthouse on the consumption-based tally — nearly half of the 41 frames it’s racked up somewhere on the roster.
