Slimmest car in the world is modified Fiat Panda that can miraculously still be driven

This modified Fiat Panda is claimed to be the thinnest vehicle in the world, and – honestly – it’s hard to disagree.

What makes the car even more bizarre is the fact that it’s still operational, although you’d need to be pretty slim to get behind the wheel.

Looking at the car from the side, it appears to be a fairly standard, if not slightly old, Fiat Panda.

But from the front, the car sort of looks like Monster Inc’s Mike Wazowski, thanks to its one headlight, and is just shy of 20 inches wide.

The modified Fiat Panda was unveiled at the Panda Pandino fest

While the Fiat Panda is a fairly dinky-sized car even when it leaves the factory, Italian car lover Andrea Marazzi took that a step further.

He built this super-slim Fiat Panda that is more or less designed to entirely to his exact size.

He unveiled the car at Italy’s Panda Pandino fest, an annual celebration of the Panda

The transformation took around a year, and he documented it on his @tutti_pazzi_per_marazzi Instagram page.

As you might imagine, creating the Panda was an unusual project and involved him cutting the Panda up lengthwise, and putting it back together without the middle piece.

Despite the fact the Fiat obviously had to undergo a whole lot of work to get it looking like it does, Marazzi made an effort to hold on to as many original parts as possible.

The front of the car has retained the original Panda headlight, but it’s now almost as wide as the car.

Obviously, the original engine is long gone and the super slim car is now an EV with a 24V electric motor that began life in an electric scooter.

It has a top speed of 15km/h, which is fine, because we’re not sure this is the sort of vehicle you’d fancy doing breakneck speeds in…

Inside, as you’ve probably guessed, is a bit of a squeeze.

There’s enough room for Marazzi to sit down behind the wheel but not much else.

The steering wheel itself came from an old golf cart, and the dashboard is original, albeit significantly cut down.

It’s not the first Panda to look like an optical illusion

OK, so that the little Fiat safely takes the title of the slimmest car, but what about the lowest?

Well, it turns out that’s a customized Fiat Panda, too.

Created by the Italian firm Carmagheddon, the custom Fiat Panda has earned itself a spot in the Guinness World Records for having the world’s lowest car top. You can see it in action in the clip above, and it’s really quite something.

And as for the world’s smallest car? That title belongs to the British-built Peel P50, which stands at just 54 inches high and 39 inches wide. The post Slimmest car in the world is modified Fiat Panda that can miraculously still be driven appeared first on Supercar Blondie.
