Tesla Cybertruck towing 2,600 pounds across Alaskan highway, man reveals perfect hack for trip

This man just used his Tesla Cybertruck to tow 2,600 pounds across Alaska, and has revealed the perfect hack for how he made it happen.

The Cybertruck owner shared an in-depth account of traveling along Alaska’s Denali Highway, revealing the roads weren’t exactly easy going.

In total, the trip took a grueling three days.

But he had one hack that made the trip possible.

The hack for driving a Tesla Cybertruck towing 2,600 pounds down an Alaskan highway

Grey Inks took to the ‘Cybertruck Owners Only’ Facebook group to share the story of his journey.

When he left the North Pole on July 4, he was doing so with 92 percent charge, towing a trailer and a side-by-side, plus a 4×4 in the bed.

That’s 2,600 Ibs in total.

At the end of the first day, when he reached Donnelly Creek Campground, he had 38 percent charge left.

He ran a generator from 9pm to 2am, afterwhich it ran out of fuel.

But it did the job and charged the Cybertruck back up to 58 percent.

The next morning, he ran the generator for two more hours while eating breakfast then started the next leg of his trip – Donnelly Creek to Denali Highway.

On the third day, he departed for the Maclaren Creek Trail at 9am.

All in all, it was a ‘memorable adventure’.

The hack in all of this? Using a generator.

In circumstances like this, there’s no guarantee that superchargers will be on hand to provide power.

Not all states have an equal distribution of EV infrastructure, so it’s wise to know ahead of time what you might need to consider.

Taking a road trip in an EV isn’t always easy

There’s nothing quite as American as a road-trip.

After all, there’s a lot of land to explore.

But when driving an EV, you have to take a lot of things into account – availability of chargers being just one of them.

For one US man, he noticed a stark difference in cost between his Tesla Cybertruck and a gas car whilst on a Florida road trip.

Over in Hawaii, a Cybertruck proved to be a great companion on a drive up the coast.

But one for many driving a Dodge Charger SUV on a road trip to St. Louis, the experience was anything but relaxing.
