Tesla Cybertruck vs. Hummer EV drag race was not close in any way whatsoever

This Tesla Cybertruck faced off against a Hummer EV in a drag race, and it was not close at all.

The Cybertruck was the lighter of the two, but the Hummer had the edge in horsepower.

For the guys at carwow, it was a chance to put two juggernauts up against each other.

Would it be a clash of the titans, or a total knock-out?

We’ve seen our fair share of drag races over the years.

For some reason, people seem especially keen to put a Tesla into the mix.

Whether it’s up against a Chevy Corvette Z51, a Dodge Charger Daytona, or a BYD Sealion 7, it seems that everyone wants to push the American EV brand to its limit.

Next up to challenge the Cybertruck was this Hummer EV.

On paper, it looked as if it’d be a clear-cut victory.

The Cybertruck is capable of 845HP and weighs in at 3,000KG.

As for the Hummer, it has 1,041HP and clocks in at 4,110KG.

So, by all rights, this should be a slam dunk for the Hummer.

A home run if you will.

We’d say a touchdown, but there’s only so many sports analogies that would apply here.

So, how would things go down out on the track?

Well, on the first time around, it was decisive – the Cybertruck sped ahead.

“Wow, that Tesla gets off the line,” the Hummer driver said.

As with most races, this was to be a best-of-three, giving the Hummer the chance for redemption.

But, it was just the same old story the second time around…and the third.

To be fair, the Hummer improved on each run, but it was no match for the Cybertruck.

We have to assume that the Cybertruck’s lighter weight played a role in its domination.

But there are other factors to consider, including the driver’s abilities and timing.

After all, every second counts in a drag race – and if you get a good start, that counts for everything.
