On Radio Andy’s “Andy Cohen Live,” Andy asked special guests Drew and Jonathan Scott — better known as The Property Brothers — if their bank account balances look the same.
“If I went into both of your bank accounts, I think you both have exactly the same amount of money, basically,” Andy said.
“No,” Jonathan said.
“Is one of you richer than the other?” Andy asked.
“The funny thing is,” Jonathan explained, “I remember years ago — because I used to film three times more than Drew, because he would be there in the beginning, and then he would come back at the end of an episode, and I was there doing the work. I remember, after doing this for 10 years … I finally said to Drew, I’m like, ‘Should I maybe get paid three times what you get paid?’ And he’s like, ‘You’re never allowed to bring this up again, ever.'”
“Was that an actual fight that you had?” Andy asked, and both brothers confirmed it was.
“Off-camera, Jonathan and I both do the construction,” Drew said. “He’s a licensed contractor, but we’ve both done the renovations for years. And, also, he was a licensed realtor and broker, so we’ve done both sides of the fence.”
Beyond their home renovation TV shows, Drew explained how they also make money through their product line and other investments.
“We’ve had 12,500 products in the home space,” he said. “We have multi-family real estate portfolios, so there’s a lot outside of what people see on the shows.”
