Toyota unveils new name and upgraded tech for its only US electric vehicle

Toyota has unveiled a new name for its only US electric vehicle, plus details of upgraded tech.

The 2026 bZ is set to be a green masterpiece with an impressive range.

Inside boasts a clean, smart cabin with advanced tech too.

Toyota said we can expect to see the upgraded EV by the end of 2025.

The manufacturer is known for producing a varied fleet of cars.

From daily drivers like the Prius to a crab-walking hydrogen concept, Toyota has done it all.

In fact, there is even a rare, odd-looking 2000 Toyota available that is about to be street-legal in the US, plus the company even teased a mystery EV pickup truck that could take down the Tesla Cybertruck.

The latest news from the car giant is just as exciting.

The company has one singular EV on offer in the US, and brand new details have emerged about the upgraded 2026 model.

Firstly, it’s been given a name change, switching from the Toyota bZ4X to the Toyota bZ to make it more simple for customers.

The tech is set to be top tier too.

It will come with a 14-inch touchscreen, Intelligent Assist, cloud navigation, and destination assist, the company says.

The range of the new battery is also a big selling point, estimated to come in at 314 miles.

The toyota will also use battery pre-conditioning – a process that warms the battery of the EV to the  ‘optimum temperature’ and can also increase the driving range and make the battery last longer.

This, alongside the addition of a ‘North American Charging System (NACS)’ charging port, sets it in good stead to compete against the big players.

Interested drivers can expect to see the Toyota bZ at dealership branches at the end of this year (2025), with the MSRP set to be announced in due course.

Does it beat the other cars in the company’s fleet, though? It may give the new Camry Nightshade a run for its money but only time will tell. The post Toyota unveils new name and upgraded tech for its only US electric vehicle appeared first on Supercar Blondie.
