Waymo has perfect response to the crude Tesla Robotaxi Austin update

From the minds that brought you the fart horn, the Tesla Robotaxi posted a crude and flaccid joke on X, formerly Twitter, after its recent Austin, Texas, update, and Waymo has hit back perfectly.

With the rollout of the Tesla Robotaxi in Austin, driverless cars have been placed under the microscope.

After mixed reviews in its opening few weeks, the self-driving EVs appear to be gearing up for more journeys in a broader area.

But there’s something a bit suspect with its new area of work, as the Tesla Robotaxi social media page showed off its new routes…

Tesla Robotaxi is getting overly happy with its Austin work zones

Before the full-self-driving EV fleet is rolled out all around America, the brand has digitally fenced in its Robotaxis, making sure they can only function on certain roads.

So far, only select customers have fully understood these zones. That was until the brand took to social media to reveal its playful approach.

Taking to X, the brand posted a rather crude update showing the digital fence to be in the shape of a gentleman’s starter pack – or junk, if you’d rather.

The digital map could technically be perceived as the company logo. But its physical reference is almost too uncanny to be a coincidence.

“It is not the size of the service area, it’s the shape that matters,” one person joked.

But Waymo – arguably the biggest competitor of the Tesla Robotaxi, having recently faced off in Texas – has now hit the perfect response.

Waymo claps back at Tesla by flexing its muscles

While the American EV brand is swinging its tool around Austin, Waymo has just shown what real dominance and prowess are like.

As of July 17, the huge autonomous brand announced a massive increase in its Austin, Texas service area, which puts the crude Tesla map to shame.

And it isn’t slowing down there, as Waymo is already setting its sights on more major city rollouts.

This isn’t the first time that Waymo and Tesla have gone head-to-head, and it won’t be the last. In fact, the two full-self-driving carmakers will be both launching into San Fransico soon.
