In recent months, several Tesla owners have been left shocked after seeing how much their EV has depreciated since buying it, one man saw almost $100,000 knocked off the value of his Model S in two years, while a UK Tesla driver was left reeling after getting a valuation from WeBuyAnyCar

In the US, Tesla Model Y owner and TikToker Nejra – @nejra_voden_ – revealed she bought her car new in 2023.

In a clip shared on TikTok she said since purchasing her car, the value of Teslas and other EVs has ‘been in the dumpster’, before adding ‘actually below the dumpster’.

She said buying the Model Y was ‘absolutely the worst financial decision I ever made in my life’.

The woman went on to say she had ended up paying more each month than the car was worth and that for what she pays she reckons she could drive a better vehicle.

Offering some advice for anyone else thinking of getting a Tesla, Nejra said she strongly recommends buying a used one – where you could end up getting a great deal due to depreciation – or leasing the EV.

But it wasn’t all bad news, she also listed some positives about the EV

Nejra also shared what she loved about the car, which included being able to charge it up at home and never having to use a gas station.

She also heaped praise on the side cameras saying, they help her change lanes much more easily.

“That will probably be the biggest adjustment when I get into a non-Tesla,” she said of the side cameras.

And she didn’t stop there, she is also a huge fan of how fast the Model Y can go, praising its 0-60mph time of just three seconds.

Summing up, she said after two years of ownership, she had a ‘love/hate relationship’ with the car.The post Woman two years into Tesla Model Y ownership calls it ‘the worst financial decision ever made’ appeared first on Supercar Blondie.
