Someone in LA recently bagged an absolute bargain after buying this 1962 Chevrolet Corvair for a ridiculously low price.
Chevy launched the Corvair in 1960, with a second generation released in 1965.
The car was in production for just short of a decade, and Chevy sold more than 1.8 million units in total.
And this example in LA may just be the cheapest Corvair the world has ever seen.

With almost two million Corvairs created across its nine-year production, you still find examples of the car out and about today.
Unfortunately, many of these have seen better days, like this one that was hauled out from under some overgrown trees after almost five decades, or this one that was left to rot in the middle of a jungle in Panama. Ouch.
Thankfully, this 1962 Chevrolet Corvair that recently sold in Los Angeles had fared much better.
That’s not to say it’s perfect, though; the vintage vehicle is definitely in need of some TLC.
Alongside the usual chips, scratches, and paintwork imperfections you might expect from a car of this age, it also has worn window seals, tears in the interior, and some signs of rust.
The seller also noted that the radio has packed in, the clutch needs looking at, and the engine will idle until it’s had a chance to warm up.
Not that it’s all bad, the Corvair is in a pretty solid shape overall, and comes with a clean title.
It has 13-inch steel wheels with gleaming hubcaps, as well as electric windshield wipers and a heater.
The car has held onto its original 2.4-liter flat-six engine and has been fitted with a new battery.
The owner cleaned the fuel lines and fuel pump a few months back and was given fresh engine oil in 2023.
So, while the car is in need of some serious repairs and restoration, it could be a neat little project for the right person.
Not only that, but the car sold for a cheap-as-chips $2,422 at a recent auction – here’s hoping whoever snapped it up can restore this Corvair to its former glory. The post World’s cheapest Chevy Corvair sells in LA for what a rich person might find behind their couch appeared first on Supercar Blondie.
