Ye Admits to Borrowing Drake’s Flow: ‘I Had Sh– That Was Copies of Drake’
The Chicago rapper also revealed that he was supposed to work on Drake's Honestly, Nevermind.

More news continues to come out of Ye’s recent stream with Sneako and Drake affiliate Top5. Toward the end of the stream, around the two-hour and 14-minute mark, the Chicago rapper talked about Drake’s unique sound and how he found himself borrowing the Toronto rapper’s style.
“Another thing about Drake’s music,” Ye (formerly Kanye West) said after mentioning how many hits Drake has. “He don’t got sh– that copies what I do. I be having sh– that copies a Drake flow a lot of the times. I got sh– that once Drake took over the algorithm, I had sh– that was copies of Drake.”
Earlier in the stream, around the one-hour and 56-minute mark, Ye revealed that he asked Kendrick Lamar and Drake to be on Donda and was also supposed to work on the Toronto rapper’s “uptempo” album Honestly, Nevermind, after talking about how much he hates Lamar’s and J. Cole‘s music.
“I’m not gonna act like I didn’t ask Drake to be on Donda and Kendrick to be on Donda,” he said, adding, “When he was doing the uptempo album, I was supposed to go work on that.”
Their hot and cold relationship aside, Ye has been publicly supportive of Drake’s UMG lawsuit, calling it a “victory” after his lawyers added new language to his complaint. “Yo, I’m so happy right now, you don’t understand,” Ye said in a video posted to social media. “With this UMG, Drake, Kendrick situation, Super Bowl, Grammys — this sh– was driving me and you know where it should be driving me, but this is the biggest victory in music history right here. I’m never finna call Drake out of his name. I’m team Drake, 100 percent. And team Kendrick and Team All of Us! Kendrick needs to be going at UMG at this point.”
