After 28 years Missouri man delightfully discovered neighbor’s Chevy Corvette that he abandoned

A Missouri man was delighted when his neighbor – a man called Dave – revealed an Elkhart Green 1972 Chevy Corvette that had been abandoned in his garage for 28 years.

The 1972 Elkhart Green Chevy Corvette with classy chrome bumpers would only be one of 4,200 created that year, but now it is one of only a few that exist in its (mostly) original form.

Although it has been upgraded with a Bluetooth stereo system and runs and drives perfectly fine, Dave’s neighbor, who now owns the car, has listed it on eBay, saying: “Make me an offer I can’t refuse.”

Some might say that the asking price for this classy classic Corvette is a bit steep, but you can’t put a price on classic style, right?

Reviving his neighbor’s abandoned Chevy Corvette after 28 years

Meet Dave, the original owner of this 1972 Elkhart Green Chevy Corvette Stingray who abandoned the car in his garage for 28 years after getting a DUI.

The new owner of the Chevy Corvette couldn’t believe that Dave had been hiding such a gem from him for so long and helpfully took it off Dave’s hands, giving it a refresh and a bit of a modern upgrade.

After fixing it and getting it back on the roads – equipped with a new Bluetooth sound system – Dave’s neighbor decided to list the Chevy Corvette on eBay, asking potential buyers to ‘make [him] an offer [he] can’t refuse.’

Like a good neighbor, Dave is there

In 1972, the most popular Chevy Corvette was Ontario Orange, but coming in second was the Elkhart Green and 1972 was also the last year of chrome bumpers, so an already rare car has been made even rarer, especially as it is in such good nick and runs well.

The seller wants $30,000 for the Corvette, which seems a little steep.

We don’t know if the car’s condition and rarity might help the sale.

Dave’s DUI three decades ago old could be set to pay off for his neighbor.

But, we’ll have to wait and see.
