The world’s first Tesla diner has opened up in California, and – much like the Cybertruck – the menu is already dividing opinions online.
The Tesla Diner opened its doors in Los Angeles along the iconic Route 66.
The futuristic-looking venue comes complete with movie screens, diner, and – of course – Tesla Superchargers.
The menu to the diner has since been doing the rounds online, and it’s attracting plenty of attention.
The menu to the new Tesla diner has been revealed
As well as rolling out Superchargers at a fast pace, Tesla has now officially opened up its first-ever diner.
The Tesla diner is open 24/7 and is a neat mix of new meets old.
It features old-school movie screens as a nod to tradition, but if you want some popcorn to tuck into while you’re watching, you’ll be served by an Optimus Robot. Pretty cool.
The diner officially opened up on July 21 and is ‘epic’, according to Tesla boss Elon Musk.
On the menu you’ll find plenty of standard American fare, including a Tesla burger for $13.50, a hot dog for $13, fried chicken and waffles priced at $13, and milkshakes for $8 apiece.
There are also sides like tallow fries for $4, ‘epic bacon’ for $12, and a Wagyu beef chili cup at $8.
If you’re in the market for something sweet, a cup of soft serve is $6, and a Greek yogurt parfait is $9.
Drink options start from $4 and include espresso, iced tea, and fountain soft drinks.
However, much like the ever-divisive Cybertruck, it seems that the menu at the new Tesla diner is also splitting opinions.
Some folks thought the price points were impressive, particularly for LA.
“The prices are reasonable. Actually cheap for the area,” one person wrote on X.
“Reasonable prices for today’s standards,” another agreed.
But others weren’t so sure.
“Like it, but prices seem a little high,” someone else commented. “Guess no poor people will be eating there.”
“Does everything come with a free Model S or X at those prices?” a fourth joked.
A handful of people also pointed out that the veggie and plant-based options were fairly limited and that even the fries were cooked in beef fat, but there were also plenty of meat-eaters who were keen to pay a visit.
Meanwhile, some were less concerned with the menu itself but called out ‘clout chaser’
Fancy being served popcorn by a robot?
Whatever you think of the menu, you have to admit that the new diner is an impressive venue.
From the outside, it looks like a cross between a flying saucer and a 1950s diner.
And inside you can fist-bump a robot before asking him to grab you a bucket of popcorn.
How many other places can you say that about? The post As the new Tesla diner opened in California its menu was revealed and there were a lot of mixed reactions appeared first on Supercar Blondie.
