Customer turns up to dealership with a Gold Rolex and some cash and leaves with a Tesla Model Y

This customer arrived at a Tesla dealership with a gold Rolex and some cash, and then departed with a Tesla Model Y EV after striking a deal with the salesman.

YouTuber and salesman George J Sailba runs an exotic car dealership, so when a customer walked into his showroom with a wad of cash, he got to work.

The customer had himself been a car dealer in the past and recalled some pretty impressive sales figures from his career.

Having come into the dealership looking for a new car for his son, with a pocket full of cash and a gold Rolex watch on his wrist, he wasn’t willing to leave without striking a good deal.

What car he was searching for

The customer walked into the dealership and explained that he used to work for the Coleman dealership before retiring.

He claimed to have been a top salesman and stated he was able to sell up to 35 cars per month at one point.

That equates to roughly an average of more than one car per day, or 1.16 to be exact.

He said he was looking for a Tesla Model Y and was hoping to strike a deal for the EV.

The aim was to give the car to his son, who desperately wanted that car in particular.

Striking a deal for the Tesla Model Y

After flattering the dealer a bit, the customer waved the money in front of the salesman to show him he was serious about making a deal.

Currently, the standard Model Y will cost $37,490 after the $7,500 Federal Tax Credit.

However, this customer was hoping to bring that price down even more.

In an attempt to do that, he then dangled his Rolex in front of the salesman, saying he knew the salesman was a big watch guy.

Clearly, the master salesman within the customer was still present, as he was able to strike a good deal.

In the end, the retired salesman got the price down to $33,500, and he didn’t even need to hand his watch over.

The pair shook on it to firm up the deal.

That represents a very good saving on the price Tesla currently sets for the Model Y.

This was all done by good and friendly negotiating, with the help of a wad of cash in his back pocket.
