A drone flying over the Tesla test track in Fremont, California, may have just given us the first glimpse of a potential new Tesla model.
A drone operator flew over the test track at the end of last month and spotted a car with camouflage on its front and back ends.
Of course, the new drone images have sparked plenty of speculation about exactly what the car being tested is.
But some Tesla fans are convinced the footage could be the much-talked-about ‘affordable’ new model.

It’s been a bumpy year for Tesla, which has been overtaken by rival BYD in Europe for the first time.
Despite its struggles, the marque recently launched an updated Model Y as well as a new Model Y Long Range Rear-Wheel Drive, which comes with a lower price tag.
But, while the new RWD is the cheapest Model Y to date, it’s not the more affordable Tesla model that’s been rumored to be in the works.
As yet, the carmaker has kept any details about the upcoming cheaper option closely guarded.
But a drone operator recently shared footage on the Met God in Wilderness YouTube channel of a mystery car that ‘could be the new low-cost model’.
If it is the rumored lower-priced Tesla, then it being tested at Fremont would neatly line up with previous comments from Tesla CFO Vaibhav Taneja.
Speaking during an investor call following its first-quarter earnings report, Taneja said production of the affordable EV was slated to start in June.
He also suggested that the car may borrow design elements from the Model 3 and Model Y.
This is interesting because if you take a closer look at the car spotted in the recent drone footage, you’ll probably notice that its proportions and design appear to be very similar to the Model Y.
Whether this is the touted cheaper Tesla or a different prototype entirely is unclear.
It’s also unclear how much cheaper a ‘cheaper model’ Tesla might be, but boss Elon Musk has poured cold water on the idea of a super cheap $25,000 model.
So, it looks as though we’ll simply have to wait and see.The post Drone flyover in California caught a possible glimpse of new Tesla model that’s set to be ground-breaking appeared first on Supercar Blondie.
