Bitcoin is trading comfortably above $100,000. After many months, Ethereum is also above $2,100. Not to be left behind, Solana, one of the best cryptos to consider buying in 2025, is above $150. Everything looks solid for crypto, including some of the best Solana meme coins.

Yet, even with this refreshing push higher, there is a high probability that SOL and ETH prices will surge even higher in the coming sessions. If the last meme coin-inspired wave that lifted SOL to nearly $300 is any indication, the next bull cycle could be explosive.
In a post on X, Matt Hougan, the CIO of Bitwise, said more securities are being onboarded and tokenized on-chain at a faster rate than people think. For this reason, he’s convinced the “train is leaving the station,” a boon for SOL and ETH.
Stocks are going to move on-chain much faster than people think. In the last 24 hours:
1) Robinhood announced plans for a service that would let Europeans trade US stocks on Solana and/or Arbitrum ;
2) SEC Commissioner Hester Peirce gave a speech about allowing stocks to be…

Robinhood Eager to Tokenize Stocks
Citing major events this week, Hougan noted that Robinhood is boldly moving toward bringing United States stocks to European investors via Solana and Arbitrum, an Ethereum layer-2.
The choice of these two chains is obvious. Unlike Ethereum, Solana and Arbitrum are scalable, handling transaction processing faster than Ethereum and cheaper.
In February, Vlad Tenev, the CEO of Robinhood, said tokenizing securities could strengthen the United States and allow it to dominate the global market.
If successful, the popular exchange could drive massive volumes to Solana, Ethereum, or any other blockchain they adopt, boosting prices.

Will Regulations Change to Promote Tokenization?
Meanwhile, United States SEC Commissioner Hester Peirce is endorsing blockchain-based securities.
In a speech on May 8, Peirce, widely known as “Crypto Mom,” advocated for allowing stocks to be issued on-chain and for traders to swap and settle them on public chains.
Her remarks signal a potential shift in the United States’ regulatory landscape, which would greatly boost the industry.
Specifically, Ethereum and Solana, two major smart contract platforms, will likely benefit from this regulatory shift, assuming it happens sooner rather than later.
By warming to tokenized securities, the United States would catch up with jurisdictions like Singapore and Europe, which have succeeded in providing clarity for tokenized securities.
Adopting policies that support tokenization would translate to greater transparency and efficiency, as the process would be streamlined and costs reduced, all while complying with existing laws.
Preparing for the Age of RWA on Ethereum and Solana
Hougan also pointed to the “Open Bell” project by Superstate.
The platform allows for the tokenization of shares on Ethereum and Solana and was announced days after the submission of “Project Open” on April 30.
Sol Strategies, a Canadian crypto holding firm, will be the first to tokenize shares via Open Bell on Solana.
Open Bell could become the go-to platform for tokenizing securities on these two pioneering blockchains. It also aligns with what Larry Fink, the CEO of BlackRock, has been pushing for.
In an interview, Fink said Congress should draft laws permitting the tokenization of securities, not only stocks. BlackRock’s BUIDL, which first launched on Ethereum, has already tokenized hundreds of millions of dollars’ worth of treasuries.
Should Open Bell take off and securities be tokenized on Ethereum and Solana, their tokens will fly.
