The Glickenhaus 007S, based on its Le Mans WEC hypercar, is somehow street-legal.

Scuderia Cameron Glickenhaus, run by gearhead and racing fanatic James Glickenhaus, raced in the World Endurance Championship’s (WEC) hypercar category from 2021 to 2023.

The car took pole positions and podiums and was close to winning at Monza in 2022 before its engine expired.

The 007S is a street-legal version of the race car, although we aren’t entirely sure how such a monster can be driven on public roads.

From the outside, the Glickenhaus 007S looks precisely like the hypercar that took a podium at Le Mans on its debut.

Remarkably, the teardrop-shaped canopy can house three people, with the driver’s seat centrally mounted as in other race cars.

Glickenhaus pulled out of the WEC at the end of the 2023 season.

As a privateer team, though, it struggled to match the pace of the better-funded manufacturers.

However, its absence is still missed in the series by race fans.

Thankfully, its absence from racing doesn’t hurt the production of the road-going 007S.

The company has recently shared images of the hypercars undergoing production at its factory.

For now, the manufacturer is keeping the exact technical details closely guarded.

However, we know each is made of carbon fiber and will have a KTech twin-turbocharged V8 under the hood.

That engine will produce 1,000HP, and it’s set to build 24 examples of the car in total.

The original Le Mans racer was the SCG 007 LMH, competing from 2021 to 2023.

It had a 3.5-liter twin-turbocharged V8 under the hood, which produced 671HP.

In its 12 races, the car took two pole positions and two podiums.

It also came close to winning at Monza in 2023.

As a privateer team, Glickenhaus would always be up against it as the likes of Porsche, BMW, Ferrari, and Cadillac joined Toyota in the WEC.

But it was a remarkable achievement to win pole positions and podiums and fight for wins against its much bigger rivals.

Hopefully, the 007S road car conjures up some of the magic of the WEC hypercar. The post Glickenhaus 007S based on Le Mans Hypercar that’s debuting soon is somehow street-legal appeared first on Supercar Blondie.
