This Illinois man found an abandoned American car from 1973 in a storage unit and tracked down its original owner.

The car was a 1973 Oldsmobile, and it had been hiding away inside the garage for a very long time.

The original owner of the car had bought it new and had hardly driven it during his ownership.

It was last on the road around eight years ago.

The Oldsmobile has been a one-owner car since new, with the original owner only having driven the car sparingly.

Grimm revealed that the American car was covered in dust, indicating just how long it had been left untouched.

After buying the storage facility, Grimm and his team had to break into it because it was locked.

That was the moment when they saw the car.

The owner of the storage facility also had no idea who was renting the garage.

Other than the dust, the Oldsmobile looked to have survived in really good condition.

Tracking down the original owner was what revealed it to be a very low-mileage car.

The car in question is a 1973 Oldsmobile Cutlass, which for many years was Oldsmobile’s entry-level model.

Oldsmobile produced the Cutlass from 1961 to 1999, with the 1973 model serving as part of the fourth generation.

The fourth-gen Cutlass was produced from 1973 to 1977.

A variety of engines could be found under the hood, ranging from a Buick V6 to a Chevrolet inline-six.

V8 engines were also available, from a 4.3-liter engine to a 7.5-liter powertrain.

Sadly, the YouTuber didn’t go into great detail about the car’s engine, exact specifications, or his intentions with the car.

It may well be the previous owner wants it back, or it could be sold to have a restoration and be back on the road.

If it is just dusty and is mechanically sound, perhaps this Cutlass will get another chance at life afterall. The post Illinois man finds abandoned car from 1973 in storage unit he purchased, tracks down owner appeared first on Supercar Blondie.
