Honda’s futuristic GT EV comes with more screens than a home theater

The new GAC Honda GT and Dongfeng Honda GT EV are crammed with tech and have more screens than a home cinema system.

Although the cars are being released under two brand names, they are almost identical other than a few cosmetic changes.

For the GAC Honda, you’ll get a double stack of running headlights, whereas the Dongfeng Honda has just one.

Inside, both versions are the same and they’re filled with cool tech and plenty of screens.

Honda’s new GT EV are the flagship models of the Ye Series

The Japanese carmaker unveiled the GAC Honda GT and Dongfeng Honda GT at the recent Auto Shanghai.

The two new vehicles are the second release from Honda’s Ye Series EV range.

The two cars have been developed in conjunction with Honda’s GAC and Dongfeng Chinese joint venture partners.

The cars have no functional differences, and aside from the headlights, it would be impossible to tell them apart.

“The GAC Honda GT and the Dongfeng Honda GT models were developed as flagship models of the Ye Series with the goal of offering customers a new sensation of driving pleasure,” said Honda in a press release.

Honda is yet to confirm the powertrain options for the GTs, but it’s thought they will be similar to those of the S7 and P7, which include a 268 horsepower single motor, rear-wheel drive option, and a more powerful 469HP twin-motor all-wheel-drive one.

The new EV has six screens in the cockpit interior

The GAC Honda GT and Dongfeng Honda GT share the same interior, and it’s a tech lover’s paradise.

The new GT EV feature a driver-centric, screen-filled cockpit design that makes it look and feel a bit like being in a racecar.

In total, there are six screens inside the GTs, including a large central touchscreen, a driver’s display, and two replacing the wing mirrors.

Honda has also promised that it will offer a very different experience for the passenger, although as yet it hasn’t shared details on what that actually entails.

What we do know is that its expansive range of screens is powered by Huawei’s intelligent cockpit control system.

Honda has also joined forces with DeepSeek to incorporate AI technology into the Ye Series, in a move that will ‘support occupants and create more comfortable and enjoyable space for mobility’.

The GAC Honda GT and Dongfeng Honda GT won’t be heading to the US, as Honda is only launching them into the Chinese market.

As yet, Honda hasn’t revealed how much the cars will cost. The post Honda’s futuristic GT EV comes with more screens than a home theater appeared first on Supercar Blondie.
