John Cena’s Ford GT has lived a very controversial life after wrestler was sued by Ford for selling it

John Cena’s Ford GT can’t catch a break, maybe precisely because of what happened between John Cena and Ford – it’s like a curse now.
The Ford GT is currently looking for a new owner… again.
The irony is that this Ford GT has had at least five confirmed owners so far, but it’s only done a handful of miles.
Maybe it all went wrong because John Cena broke the one rule you should never break.

What happened to John Cena’s Ford GT
John Cena’s Ford GT got John Cena in trouble, and it also reportedly got a major auction house in trouble.
The wrestler-turned-actor bought the car new in 2017, and he sold it less than a month later.
This wouldn’t be a problem with a Ford Mustang or a Ford Explorer, but you can’t do that with a Ford GT because there’s a no-resale clause.
Cena got in trouble because of this, and then, years later, a major auction platform apparently got in trouble for trying to sell the car again.
This ‘unlucky’ Ford GT has had at least five owners so far, including Cena himself, and yet it’s only done just over 600 miles.
Interestingly, this was John Cena’s second Ford GT, because he also used a 2006 model (pictured above).
What’s a no-resale clause
The GT is one of many cars that come with a no-resale clause.
Even Tesla’s Cybertruck had one of those at some point.
This is entirely at the discretion of the automaker but, generally speaking, nearly all limited-edition supercars are sold with a no-resale clause.
Ferrari is famously particularly fierce when it comes to this.
The company maintains a discreet approach to its allocation process, but it’s an open secret that they reserve the right to decide who gets to buy their cars.
