Man finds probably the only remaining 1978 Dodge Magnum Force GT in existence in Michigan

A car enthusiast found a super rare 1978 Dodge Magnum Force GT stashed away in a garage in Michigan, and it’s quite possibly the only one left in existence.

You may have heard of the Dodge Magnum nameplate before, as it has been used on various models over the years.

Between 2005 and 2008, the Dodge Magnum name was used on a Charger-based station wagon.

But it first appeared years earlier on a mid-size coupe that was introduced in 1978.

The original Dodge Magnum didn’t really leave a lasting impression on the automotive world, and these days is largely forgotten.

However, Ryan, from the Auto Archaeology YouTube channel, recently discovered one in a garage in Michigan.

Ryan is no stranger to unearthing a rare and unusual vehicle, having previously found this enviable two-story muscle car collection in an old barn, and this 1969 Yenko Camaro that was stashed in a trailer in Illinois.

In a more recent discovery, he stumbled across this 1978 Dodge Magnum special edition performance-oriented Force GT model.

The Force GT was offered as a dealer-installed package on the factory Dodge Magnum and, as such, is a rarer find.

So much so that Ryan thinks it could be the only example still out there.

“I’m in Michigan looking at probably the only remaining 1978 Dodge Magnum Force GT in existence,” he said in the clip.

He went on to say that exact numbers are unclear, but this coupe is the only GT version known to still exist. And it doesn’t get much rarer than that now, does it?

The owner explained to Ryan that he had first set eyes on the car when he was taking his daughter to the hospital and spotted it on someone’s lawn.

He told his wife that if the car was still there when they were driving back, then he was going to buy it – and it was, so he did.

Despite its age, the 1978 Dodge Magnum Force GT was in great shape, and it still drives.

It’s also a pretty low mileage vehicle, which goes some way to explaining why it’s in such decent shape.

We’re just glad to see a classic vehicle end up with an owner who knows how to treat it. The post Man finds probably the only remaining 1978 Dodge Magnum Force GT in existence in Michigan appeared first on Supercar Blondie.
