After spending nine years behind the wheel of a Tesla Model S, this man has finally moved away from the brand to get a Lucid Air GT, and he’s already compared the two gargantuan EVs.
Despite coming out in 2012, the Tesla Model S remains one of the best accomplishments that the esteemed electric car brand has ever achieved.
With lightning speed and extreme comfort, even the earliest cars in the range are impressive.
But how does it stack up against a new Lucid Air GT? Well, one man has now given his lowdown on social media after making the bold switch.

New Lucid Air GT owner gives his early verdict
Tesla has faced stiff competition in the EV department over the last few years, which makes it no surprise that the company’s sales have suffered in 2025 as other manufacturers catch up.
One of these is Lucid Motors, which is attracting a number of Tesla drivers.
Now, one of the drivers who made the switch has taken to Reddit to document his thoughts, comparing the two.
And straight off the bat, there are a lot of positives that sway in the way of the Lucid Air GT.
After taking delivery of a Fathom Blue Stealth GT, with a Tahoe interior, Reddit user DayProfessional3776 noted that the luxurious feel, Apple software, massage seats, cameras, and the acceleration were all superior.
However, there were a few quirks.
“Delivery experience could have been better with the paperwork and the explanation of lease terms, especially around money factor, but I am sure they are still figuring that out,” the man said.
Aside from that, the Fathom Blue wasn’t quite the shade he had hoped, being too light and almost grey, but it’s still ‘beautiful’.
Mostly, he’s loving it so far.
But, he’s only a few days in, and will be coming back with a second verdict after giving it a good run out.
Lucid Air vs Tesla Model S, the battle for the EV throne
The Lucid Air GT is up there with one of the best EVs around, especially if you’re into sports cars, and it often falls into good competition with the Model S.
But while the Model S Plaid is the quicker of the two cars, the GT has bagged the title for the longest drive on a single charge, showing world supremacy on one of the EV genre’s biggest anxieties.
It’s also no slouch, only marginally missing the mark against the Plaid in a race, which means it would leave a standard Tesla Model S in the dust.
But, for a considerable amount of dollar bills more, you might expect to find a few more benefits of the Lucid Air GT.
Still, with more and more luxury EVs hitting the market, both of these titans will be looking to improve and stay ahead of the competition. The post Man who switched to Lucid Air GT from Tesla after driving Model S for nearly 9 years reveals if he regrets it appeared first on Supercar Blondie.
