The Klairmont Kollection, a massive Chicago auto museum, is shutting down soon.
The good news, if we were looking for it, is that around 290-300 vehicles from the collection will soon find a new home – and it could be any of us. Well, maybe.
Most of these cars are, as you can imagine, rare, and all of them are quite valuable.
Including a one-off rarity.

This Chicago auto museum is outstanding
The Klairmont Kollection, sometimes also known as the Klairmont Kollections Automotive Museum, is one of the largest, most diverse, and most valuable car collections in the United States, and possibly in the world.
The collection comprises between 290 and 300 cars, and they are all going to be sold at auction at a Mecum Auction event later in the summer.
The collection features a variety of muscle cars, including a one-off Dodge Turbo Charger concept.
There are several other one-off vehicles in the collection, as well, including the legendary Vortex X2000, which is a V8-powered concept car based on a Lincoln.
One of the largest car collections in the United States
The Klairmont Kollection is certainly one of the largest car collections in the world and one of the largest in North America.
There aren’t that many collections that can compete with it.
Obviously, there’s Jay Leno‘s car collection, and then, of course, there’s the Petersen Museum, which is possibly the largest and most valuable car collection in North America.
As for the Klairmont Kollections Automotive Museum, it comprises 300 vehicles, ranging from 1909 to the present day.
The very fact that no one knows for sure how many cars are in the car museum says it all. Which is partly why it’s such a shame the collection is being broken up.
Different sources quote different numbers, but broadly speaking, we’re looking at a collection consisting of at least 295-300 cars.
This collection is easily worth millions. It’s going to be an interesting auction. If you buy something, let us know? The post Massive Chicago auto museum is shutting down and selling all 295 of its incredible cars appeared first on Supercar Blondie.
