A Mercedes dealership in Texas sold a $350K G63 AMG G-Wagen SUV to a dealer in Illinois…but now neither knows where the car has gone.
This bizarre story recently came to light after the two dealers had struck a deal, only for a third party to sneak in and swipe the car from them.
Both of the dealers involved have admitted to their mistake over the matter and stated that they had messed up after the Mercedes SUV went missing.
The question is whether or not they can reclaim it and get it back on sale again.

How the Mercedes G-Wagen SUV went missing
Reports say that the dealers were Mercedes-Benz of Laredo in Texas, where the car came from, and Loeber Motors in Illinois, where it was going.
Loeber paid $347,225 for the 2023 G63 G-Wagen, with the Texas dealer setting up the transport and paperwork.
However, it quickly turned into a nightmare situation.
A car carrier turned up at the Texas dealer to collect the car; however, it had already gone.
Some digging revealed one of the dealer’s employees had handed over the keys to an ‘unknown individual.’
Remarkably, the dealership could not find out who that person was or what documentation and paperwork they had.
It is also unclear how the alleged thieves knew about the G63 and its scheduled delivery.
Back in Illinois, Loeber Motors is currently going through the court system to get its money back.
While Laredo has admitted that they ‘screwed up,’ they haven’t sent the money back to Illinois for the SUV.
Remarkably, this is a more common occurrence than you would think with luxury cars.
Other dealers have suffered from missing luxury cars
Another high-profile case was in New Jersey.
A Mercedes dealership there is suing another dealer in South Carolina after a Mercedes-Benz GLE went missing.
The total cost of that car was $75,216.
Another dealer, Twin Cities Performance, is suing Bentley Denver and Angel Moving Cars.
This time, it was over the disappearance of a Ferrari Roma!
It’s not clear how these supposed transporters are getting away with stealing the cars.
But it is costing the dealerships involved a lot of money to sort it out.The post Mercedes dealer in Texas sold $350k G63 AMG to a dealer in Illinois, and now neither knows where it is appeared first on Supercar Blondie.
