Metaplanet Fills the Bag With an Additional 1005 BTC The Japanese public-listed firm recently announced the purchase of 1,005 BTC for approximately $108.1 million, at an average price of $107,601 per Bitcoin. This brings the company’s total Bitcoin holdings to 13,350 BTC as of June 30, 2025, acquired at a total cost of $1.31 billion, averaging $97,832 per Bitcoin. After overtaking Tesla last week, Metaplanet has entered the list of the top five publicly listed Bitcoin holders, overtaking Bitcoin miner CleanSpark and Mike Novogratz’s Galaxy Digital with its latest purchase. In a related development, Metaplanet has issued its 19th Series of Ordinary Bonds, valued at nearly $208 million. EVO FUND fully subscribed to the zero-coupon and unsecured bonds. The company plans to use the proceeds to repurchase JPY 1.75 billion in previously issued bonds, with the remaining funds allocated to further Bitcoin acquisitions.
