Michael Schumacher loved two wheels

Did you know that Michael Schumacher was an avid motorcycle fan?

Despite being a dominant force in Formula One from 1991 to 2006, Schumacher had a great passion for speed on two wheels.

During his first retirement, Michael Schumacher even took part in several superbike races.

As a matter of fact, the German legend even scored a podium in Hungary whilst competing in the IDM Superbike Championship in 2008.

Back in 2012, Schumacher also took part in a legendary track day organised by Monster Energy.

Schumacher would share the asphalt with Grand Prix legend Randy Mamola, Isle of Man TT legend John McGuinness, then-Moto2 rider Pol Espargaro and former Prodigy frontman Keith Flint.

Schumacher’s Honda Fireblade superbike is up for sale

A truly special, one-of-a-kind Honda CBR1000RR Fireblade has now come up for auction.

It was crafted and converted from road to race spec by Holzhauer Racing Performance.

This particular Honda Fireblade is a 2010-spec bike that was built for Schumacher to use at track days.

The superbike is adorned with Schumacher’s number, 77, on the front windshield.

It is currently up for auction with RM Sotheby’s as part of its ‘The Champions – Schumacher and F1 Legends’ range.

Alongside such a unique Honda Fireblade superbike, the winning bidder will get more goodies as part of the package.

The winning bidder will also received a signed Schuberth helmet and a pair of signed riding gloves alongside the Honda Fireblade.

Interestingly, the auction does not have a reserve price listed.

It is expected to fetch somewhere between $30-40,000 by the time of the auction’s end.

The current bid sits at around $23,400, although the auction does still have four days left to run.

If you happen to have a spare $40,000 lying around, why not grab yourself a one-of-a-kind piece of two-wheeled history?
