Nashville is one of America’s most well-known cities.
For one thing, it is the home of the Country Music Hall of Fame and Museum.
But the capital of Tennessee is also home to something extremely unique.
It is home to perhaps the strangest speed limit sign you will ever see.

As you likely know, speed signs for cars on roads often all have one common theme.
Speed signs all over the world are often presented in multiples of five or 10.
If you ever happen to be in Nashville, you will find an exception to that rule.
Specifically, if you head to the Opry Mills Mall, you will find the speed limit in question.
And that speed limit presented on the sign is…24MPH.
Yes, you read that right – somebody has put a speed limit on the road of 24MPH.
In case you happen to be wondering why this is, there might actually be a good reason.
The sign displaying the 24MPH limit is located on the edge of a parking lot.
Being located on the edge of a parking lot means that the sign falls on private property.
Unlike public roads, holders of private property can enforce whatever speed limits they like.
As ridiculous as this sounds, it means that you could technically enforce a random speed limit on your driveway.
This sign, and many like it, have confused different people for years.
It is extremely understandable, though – most people probably assume that it’s an official, government speed limit.
In fairness, picking such a unique limit to display has certainly worked.
If anything, the attention-grabbing nature of such a unique number might lead to more people following it.
This could be a case of a very clever psychological reverse trick by the property owner.
The only downside, however, is the issue of actually enforcing said speed limit.
Because this is private property, it’s the owner’s responsibility to enforce the rules.
It is hard to imagine, however, too many people being bothered by this one-of-a-kind sign. The post Nashville road oddly has a specific speed limit of 24mph, but there’s a good reason for it appeared first on Supercar Blondie.
