According to leaks from Weibo, the new Zeekr 001 FR will be the most powerful Chinese EV ever, packing over 2,000HP.
If confirmed, it will set a new benchmark for EVs from Asia.
It would significantly outclass the current 001 FR’s 1,300HP output and 2.02s 0–100KMH acceleration.
Let’s dig into the performance upgrade.

New Zeekr 001 FR rumored to pack more than 2,000HP
Taking a step back from what’s under the hood, the new Zeekr model is expected to feature a lighter body, likely using advanced materials to optimize the power-to-weight ratio.
Component recalibration on its brakes, suspension, and tires will also reportedly manage the added power from its advanced powertrain.
The current car model uses a quad-motor system and a 100KWH battery capable of fast charging.
In fact, it can go from 10-80 percent in a mere 15 minutes.
What’s more, special drive modes offer unique driving experiences.
Think ‘Raikkonen Mode’ inspired by the ‘Iceman’ Finnish racing driver, Kimi Räikkönen.
‘Overclocking Mode’, which is activated at any speed to increase the vehicle’s maximum power by 10 percent instantly, similar to a ‘nitro boost’.
Plus, ‘Track Mode’ offers race-inspired performance settings.
It will be the most powerful Chinese EV ever

Upping the stakes is all down to Chinese – and indeed global – market rivalry.
The upgrade is seen as a response to the Xiaomi SU7 Ultra, which packs a not-insignificant 1,500HP, both cheaper and more powerful than the predecessor of the Zeekr 001 FR.
Zeekr has made some pretty bold claims about the upcoming launch.
It even previously declared that competitors ‘wouldn’t build this in five years’ – a claim now challenged by Xiaomi.
At around $107,000 (¥769,000), the 001 FR needs a performance edge to justify its premium price tag.
The rumored model is proof of the escalating EV horsepower war among Chinese automakers.
It’s thought that this leap forward in development to over 2,000HP could push China to the forefront of global electric hypercar innovation.
In fact, a Xiaomi SU7 Ultra drag raced a Tesla Model S Plaid, and the results were pretty jaw-dropping.
