During today’s episode of Radio Andy’s “The Julia Cunningham Show,” James DeMonaco revealed that Pete Davidson is a big fan of the Purge franchise — and has expressed interest in dying in a future installment.
“He would call me every Purge movie and say, ‘Please kill me in this one.’ … We’re going to do it. It’s coming,” James told Julia, confirming that he just finished the first draft of a sixth Purge installment.
Pete, who stars in James’ latest horror movie, “The Home,” even once wrote his own Purge comedy script, which James said they’re still “one day hopefully” going to make.
“When Adam [Cantor] and I finished the first draft of ‘The Home,’ we thought of no one else but Pete,” James said. “There was something that made sense in the trauma the character Max endures in his childhood, and something similar Pete went through in his childhood. He comes from grief and trauma … They were both processing their grief through art.”
He added, “Pete did relate to that, and he jumped on board immediately after reading the first draft.”
