Seven vehicles from the Vic Edelbrock Jr. Collection will be up for sale at The Quail Auction during Monterey Car Week, including a rare 68 Chevy Camaro Trans Am with a unique history.
Six of these vehicles are American icons, but there’s one exception.
It’s interesting to note that all seven are being offered without reserve.
And a few of these vehicles might be more attainable than you think.

What’s inside the Vic Edelbrock Jr. Collection – apart from the 68 Chevy
The aforementioned 1968 Chevy Camaro Trans Am known as ‘The Mysterious No. 13’ is arguably the most important car here.
It holds several Bonneville records, and it won multiple races with American legend Don Yenko at the wheel.
This car was a serial winner, but it was also a ‘problem child’, having been disqualified from the 1968 24 Hours of Daytona due to multiple modifications that violated regulations and made it ‘too fast’.
The auction house estimates that even with no reserve, it will sell for $500,000 to $700,000.
There are two more Chevy vehicles in the collection, a 1957 Bel Air Coupe in pristine condition (pictured below), and a 1964 Corvette Sting Ray.
These two are expected to fetch $90,000 and $700,000, respectively.
We then have three Fords, including two classics from the 1930s, even though one of these is actually just a replica.
Both are expected to sell for around $100,000.
The third Ford is a 1955 Thunderbird, which, according to Bonhams, should sell for about $30,000-$50,000.
The collection also includes a gorgeous 1973 Mercedes-Benz 450 SEL (pictured below), a very early S-Class model, which is also the only non-American car here.
This one should sell for $10,000-$20,000, which sounds like a bargain.
About Monterey Car Week
Monterey Car Week is halfway between a car show, with some of the coolest cars in the world, and a concours-style event where new cars are announced, like Villa d’Este.
It is also the perfect place for automakers to showcase one-off models and special-edition vehicles, which, for example, is what Bugatti did two years ago with the Mistral.
It also hosts The Quail Auction, a classic car auction where collectors can bid on cars that you definitely don’t get to see every day.
It takes place every year in Monterey County, California, in August. The post Seven of American businessman’s personal cars are up for grabs including a ’68 Chevy with an incredible history appeared first on Supercar Blondie.
