Tesla is making major improvement with critical feature in older vehicles

Owners of older Tesla cars will be reading this news with a great amount of joy due to a new software feature being added to older cars as an upgrade: Driver Visualization.

However, it’s finally turning its attention to some of its older vehicles.

The American EV brand has been criticized for neglecting some of its older models.

But that is all about to change – with this major, albeit simple, software update.

Tesla rolls out surprise new software update for older cars

Like any other car brand, newer Tesla cars come with much more inside compared to older ones.

These include a whole host of software upgrades and updates, as well as various performance features.

The EV marque’s vehicles feature a comprehensive suite of driver assistance features, some of which aid in driving itself, while others support the vehicle’s surroundings.

One of its biggest features is a software called Driver Visualization.

This software last received a significant upgrade sometime around May of 2019.

But this means that a lot of its older cars might not have access to the software.

That is, until now – because it’s is rolling out a brand-new update to rectify that.

Owners of Intel-based EVs are receiving an upgrade that will come with a simple software update.

Older cars will now get rear visualization assistance too

The goal of this update is to provide new visualizations while Intel-based Teslas are reversing.

Previously, vehicles built by the brand were equipped with Intel-based processors.

Newer cars, however, feature the AMD chip – and it is capable of providing these visualizations as they happen in real time.

The older, Intel-based Tesla cars were capable of providing visualizations when driving forward, but not in reverse.

It is this change that the new software update aims to rectify – and it is a good sign.

The reason it is a good sign is that it appears to show that Tesla is listening to older car owners.

Elon Musk and co. appear to be finally listening to older owners – and their cars.

What is interesting is that this particular upgrade wasn’t mentioned in any Tesla press release.

Keep an eye on the EV brand, especially if the brand plans to roll out any future upgrades to its older fleet of vehicles. The post Tesla is making major improvement with critical feature in older vehicles appeared first on Supercar Blondie.
