In Arkansas, there is a strange road law that means it’s illegal to honk your horn at a sandwich shop after 9:00pm.
Legislation means that if you fancy a cold Coke or a cheeky BLT, you need to be a careful, quiet driver in order to do so.
The law is enforced in Little Rock in Arkansas, and the city also has other conduct rules when it comes to drive-in restaurants.
But, even though this law is unusual, other US states have enforced weirder matters of legality.

It’s illegal to honk your horn at a sandwich shop anytime after 9:00pm in Arkansas
We’ve all been there, desperate for a midnight snack or sneaky post-dinner treat, and someone has annoyed you on the road.
In any outburst, your first response would be to honk your horn in retaliation, or even just to have a little bit of fun behind the wheel.
However, in the city of Little Rock in Arkansas, it’s forbidden to honk your horn outside a sandwich shop after 9:00pm.
“No person shall sound the horn on a vehicle at any place where cold drinks or sandwiches are served after 9:00pm,” states the legislation of Code 1961.
The law is most likely to keep peace within the establishment and its surroundings, but you have to admit, it isn’t something that you hear about every day.
Legislation before and after the honking sentence in the rulebook talks about parking or lingering near closed businesses.
It also discusses conduct at drive-in restaurants, so the general consensus is that being quiet and respectful is key.
Arkansas isn’t the only state with unusual road laws
In any situation in life, as well as on the road, safety comes first, but there can be instances where laws perhaps go slightly over the top.
Alongside having to grab a midnight snack in silence in Little Rock, Arkansas, some other states have some out-of-the-box rules for drivers.
For example, in San Francisco, it’s simply illegal for you to clean your car with underwear.
Plus, if you live in a certain US state, you aren’t allowed to actually pump your own gas.
You can take a sneak peek at the legislation that explains the small print behind the silent sandwich rule here.
But at least it’ll give your car’s horn time to rest, right?, The post Down in Arkansas, it’s illegal to honk your horn at a sandwich shop after 9:00pm appeared first on Supercar Blondie.
